Ingredients:
garlic bulbs
salt (I recommend kosher)
olive oil
Tools:
knife
cutting board
foil
oven
a glass of wine
Instructions: Preheat oven to 350. Remove excess paper from garlic bulb and cut top off so the tips of bare cloves are visible. Take a sip of wine. Drip olive oil lightly onto exposed cloves and sprinkle with salt. Wrap bulb in foil and roast in oven for one hour. Take another swig of wine. Repeat. Variation: roast bulbs prepared as above in hot coals from a camp fire or charcoal grill.
Use roasted garlic in potato salad, spaghetti sauces, on french bread or simply eat as is. Yum.

i was wondering if i could substitute a screwdriver for the wine in the recipe.
well, i suppose - but remember: you're not really cooking until you burn yourself.
